In the various Syroco catalogs that I have seen, a "gift box" is mentioned. Each piece was supposed to come with one. However, no collector I have ever come in contact (or e-contact) with has ever seen one. Well, as luck would have it, I managed to find a piece in its box. And, perhaps this would give an explanation of why they have not been seen. It is rather plain, with nothing referring to Syroco, Syrocowood, or the Syracuse Ornamental Company. Instead it says is Police Doggy on the bottom of the box. Of course, it also contained the Police Dog corkscrew as shown in the pictures. The mystery is solved, the boxes did exist, but as with much packaging they were most likely discarded along the way.
