Silver Corkscrews

Every time that I find a silver corkscrew, the lovely bride lays claim to it. 

Something about shiny sterling implements which facilitate the opening of wine just makes her eyes light up. 

one of my favorites.  A dealer offered this to me at a discount, and I lept at the opportunity.  19th century Dutch Silver ornate handled corkscrew --usually referred to as, "that horsey thingy." Silver Picnic corkscrew with dyed ivory handle.  An awesome piece.

This style of sterling corkscrew is often found with a JH (John Hasselbring) mark.  This one is unusual as it is marked CARTIER and STERLING Sterling ornate handled corkscrew, marked NX 35 -- the lovely's favorite.  La Pierre Sterling, marked with the La Pierre "L   ," and "STERLING" Redlich Sterling. marked with the Redlich dragon, "STERLING 93," and "1893" John Hasselbring Sterling Corkscrew -- marked JH, STERLING, 
Mother of Pearl handled, silver picnic corkscrew -- marked DF for David Field - a London silversmith. 

This dates to the 1740's-1750's.  A fantastic early British silver piece
