Beautiful Farrow and Jackson type brass wingnut corkscrew. Unmarked. The previous owner had begun to polish the sides of the corkscrew, I prefer it patinated. So, I will leave the remainder of the polishing/or non polishing to you.

L.E.B co, tool kit. I have only seen a couple of examples of this piece. While there are multiple tools that accompany this set, it also includes a left handed greeley style cork puller.
marked on the end of the case, LEB Co, TRADE MARK with a little flag, and PAT. PEND. 115 BROADWAY, NEW YORK U.S.A. |

Rare Double Helix 1876 Joshua Barnes patent corkscrew. Where it is usually marked, there is an illegible indentation which would have shown the patent information. That said, the shape of the handle and double helix patent is unmistakable. The longer of the two worms is slightly short, but this is definitely one to add to the collection (while I think using antique corkscrews is a great thing, this is one that I would suggest is not for use, the worms are delicate and today's corks aren't so cooperative) Want more information on Barnes, check out my Barnes corkscrews page! |
