Folding Bow Corkscrews

One of the corkscrews the is often found is the folding bow (or harp). Usually only consisting of a single tool--that of a corkscrew--there are bow corkscrews with multiple tools. And, a good rule of thought for the collector, is the more tools, the more valuable the corkscrew. There are exceptions however, the 1949 Strauss Patent (American) has 7 or 8 tools typically, but is substantially less valuable compared to an early 5 tool English Bow.

There are some other rare single tool bow corkscrews; here are a couple of examples.

circa 1780 Singleton Bow corkscrew, marked SINGLETON

Joshua Barnes 1884 American Patent bow with hooks - marked PAT. MAY.27.84
